Lynbrook Class of 1968 List Message

Dear Classmates,
A lot has happened since the last LHS68 newsletter we sent out on Dec 11.  As we mentioned, due to many of the LHS68 musicians that would be attending the Longstock music festival on Saturday, June 23rd, we were planning the gala dinner for June 30.  In the meantime, another event was announced by a classmate that was to take place at the school on the 23rd.  What we did not know was that some classmates had already booked air travel for the event on the 23rd, and could not attend the gala dinner on the 30th.  After the June 23rd event was cancelled, concerns were expressed about trying to find a way for everyone to get together.   
 
So…
 
Just today, we have rescheduled the gala dinner to Sunday night, June 24th, at the Doubletree/Pruneyard.  We are hoping nobody has booked airfare yet for the 30th!  The hotel is holding some rooms for us, so we want to make sure everyone has a chance to sign up.  Here is the link for info on the dinner:  http://lhs68.net/2018/gala.html
 
I’ll print all the details out at the bottom of this email, but the main point is that we’re all getting really excited about seeing all of you.  There will be several chances to get together over the weekend, and we hope you can attend as many as you can!

Friday, June 22

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Hangout

  • Plans are to gather like we did in 2008, to hang out with each other and enjoy the free concert.

Saturday, June 23

Longstock Music Festival 12-10PM

  • This is a music festival event already scheduled, and independent of LHS68 activities. We have been offered access, and the chance for the Class of '68 Music All-Stars to play.
  • Trailer for 2017 Longstock: The admission charge is canned food which is donated to the Santa Cruz food bank. Bring your own food and drink, chairs. Or Barbecue available and food available onsite. Music 12:00PM to 10:00PM. Class of '68 All-stars performing

On Campus Reunion Event 4-9PM This event has been cancelled by Debbie Morris Evangel

  • Debbie Morris Evangel has organized an event at Lynbrook for the 50th. Located in the Field House Gym, a variety of activities are planned, including a buffet dinner. Debbie will be handling all the details, and you can email Debbie for more info and how to purchase tickets. 
Sunday, June 24

Sunday Picnic at Portal Park 11:30AM-3:30PM
50th Anniversary Big Dinner, Hilton Doubletree Pruneyard 5-10PM [note: click on the link for details, as date has changed!]
Monday, June 25 Brunch before we head back home?
