Lynbrook Class of '68 Reunion Update

In this issue:

It's the middle of March, the 50th is only 3 1/2 months away!

Message from Rob Karr:

We are now underway! Classmates are reserving their dinner spots, the hotel(s) have been reserving rooms, and we want to thank all the earlybirds who've already stepped up to the plate.

The full schedule will be charted at the bottom of this newsletter, but just to emphasize the main points:

These events are very accessible, and the costs for the non-dinner events are minimal, almost free! There is an earlybird discount (like we did 10 years ago) for the dinner as well. All classmates and faculty are invited.

What the heck is Longstock? Ask Jim Siano or Wayne Jasper, who have attended Longstock for 5 years, or Howie Webber or Rob Karr, who have been at the event for more than 10 years, how much fun it is. Here's the Trailer for 2017 Longstock

Overall, we have a great, long weekend to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Let's face it, we didn't know that many people in our class personally. But we share a common history that's a great conversation starter. Whether it's the music, the classes (was that Humanities class the most memorable?) or teachers, we share a commonality that has molded who we are.

We are starting to update the Classmates Online Directory, so you can see who's attending. Don't forget to update your bio, so others can see what youve been up to. Let's celebrate we're alive and kicking (or mostly limping these days) !

Get involved, people.

Nancy Pearson Shock's Message:
Hey Vikes,

Who remembers Hunky Mr. Garrett, Miss Bouret's mini skirts, Mr. Dexter's ASB Office, Mr. Norman's Greek and Latin tests, the Sadie in The Cove, our Senior picture running down the hill at Villa Montalvo, rival basketball against Homestead, swim meets against the dreaded Santa Clara with Mark Spitz? I do, and I cannot wait to reminisce about the things that you remember. We were all so fortunate to have the educational opportunities that we had at this amazingly staffed school. Mrs. Rutherford's Humanities seems to be the number one remembered course and it has made me seek out many of the things she introduced. I finally got to see the Bayeaux Tapestries last year and was not disappointed. We miss those golden days and we all have those days and experiences in common.

Let's get together and meet at the beach and listen to Oldies, go to the picnic and catch up, hang out at Longstock and watch our classmates jam, and then celebrate at the gala, dancing and promising to meet again in 5 or 10!

On another note, we do not have all the contact information. Over the last 10 years, people have moved, changed emails, and so on. The LHS.68.net database may not have your most recent data. It would be good to check in with us by going to the update page. We also do not have access to any contact info for any former teachers. If you know anyone who is not getting our information, please forward this to them or have them subscribe here. This has been the Class of '68 website for well over 10 years. We realize our database is incomplete, and we want to make sure EVERYONE is included in the events on the June 22,23,24. We may even want to send some snail-mail notices out!
