San Jose, CA. Hello Class of ‘68… After college, I worked in the political arena for many years in the California State Legislature. With the advent of term limits and a rapidly changing political landscape, I made the move to the private sector first as an Investor Relations Specialist in the commercial banking industry and now in Corporate Finance/Investor Relations for a global EMS company headquartered in San Jose. I have three wonderful children, sons Kyle (SJSU, Global Sales Engineer Symantec) and Kalen (UCSC Alumni and Regional Sales Manager for a Japanese high tech company) and daughter Jacy (UCD Alumni and Entrepreneur) who have presented me with a gaggle of terrific grand kids to dote on. I spoil them rotten and send them back! Life is good… (8/14/08) |

Mt. View, CA. I spent one year teaching high school Latin and Spanish, but didn't like teaching at all-actually hated it. After working five years at Stanford University, I studied Court Reporting and became a court reporter for a judge in San Jose Superior Court, criminal court. It was an interesting and fun job, but I had to retire early at 50 due to carpal tunnel and tendonitis.
I always hear from people about Lynbrook's reputation as a top scholastic school. I didn't realize at the time what a good experience we had. (8/5/08) |

Linda S. | Lopes Williams | ||
Deceased (6/25/50 - 5/14/18) Online obituary: Linda Williams, 67, of Albany, passed away. The daughter of Harold and Arlene (Heinzer) Lopes, she was born in South San Francisco. She married Melvin Williams on October 13, 1978 in Albany. Linda worked as a legal secretary for many years in both Linn and Benton Counties. In her youth, Linda enjoyed riding motorcycles and hanging out at Bowman Park water skiing. Linda was a very good seamstress. She crocheted a lot as well. Linda enjoyed bowling and was also a roller skater for a brief period. Linda organized a Bunco group back in the 70s and whilst some women came and went, most played together for over 40 years, forming life-long friendships!! Linda had an outgoing personality when she was at work or playing Bunco. She enjoyed shopping and visiting garage sales and the Goodwill. Later in life, Linda could be found at home sitting in her room with her little dog, Solo, watching ID TV. The last year of her life, Linda was in a Memory Care Center and recently moved to Waverly Place in Albany. Whilst much of her short term memory was lost, Linda was able to learn the names of staff and was always happy to see her favorites. As frustrating as memory loss can be, Linda never lost her sense of humor when she knew she hadn’t remembered something correctly. Linda is survived by her daughter, Wendy Morris; granddaughters Matraca and Makenna; three great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Reed and Beth Lopes-Walker, and half-sister Pat Lopes; numerous nieces and nephews; Melvin’s daughter, Shari Karstens, her family; and numerous Lopes cousins. She was preceded by her parents; and her husband. Date and time for a Celebration of Life and Bunco game in her honor will be 12:30pm June 9 at the American Legion Post 10, Albany. Donations can be made to Link Up Vets in care of Fisher Funeral Home 306 SW Washington St Albany, OR 97321.(posted 5.22.18) |
